A pair of thieves were caught by police after posting pictures on Facebook of them posing with luxury stolen cars and bikes on Facebook.
Jonathan Dougan, 26, and Matthew Murphy, 23, took photographs of the loot they stole in raids across north Manchester, Bury and Salford.
But police were able to use evidence on the social-networking site to track them down and convict them.
Typically, the pair would raid homes while the owners were out before taking vehicle keys and valuables.
Among the vehicles they stole were a Mercedes ‘A’ class car, a Triumph Bonneville motorbike, which later appeared on Murphy’s Facebook page, and a Mercedes E820, which appeared in two photographs on his page.
The pair also posted pictures of themselves astride a stolen Suzuki.
Dougan and Murphy, both from Salford, have now been jailed for nine years and four months each after they admitted conspiracy to steal.
